What makes my support approach different?
In my pursuit of recovering from childhood adversity, sexual trauma, and grief over several deaths of loved ones, I became frustrated with the lack of resources available to someone who wanted to heal naturally. Medications numb symptoms and I wanted to understand what was happening to me-so I could change it. I quickly recognized that natural approaches both empowered me And were healing to the source of my wounds.
Some of my clients have already spent years in therapy-and haven’t seen the results they get in just a few shorts weeks with me. I’ve heard it all:
the therapist doesn’t have a trauma informed approach
the therapist has shamed them
the therapist assumed they were over their trauma because they looked fine
the therapist threw a script at them and ushered them out the door
The work that we do together is geared towards helping you understand how past pain is connected to present circumstances, so you can take action, clear trauma & feel empowered. I will encourage you through the difficult emotions and show you your strengths. We will delve into all aspects of your healing-physical, mental and spiritual. I have helped myself and others go from ‘hot mess express’ to a woman who:
Loves herself, has self-compassion, and extends grace to myself in this healing process
Can speak up confidently, enforce boundaries, and navigate triggers like a ninja!
Is cultivating the life and relationships that I’ve always wanted
Is not only confident, but comfortable accepting and speaking about her story-I believe sharing our experience adds an incredible layer of healing to the journey
I understand from experience that untreated manifestations of trauma-both physical and emotional-will wreak havoc on your body and your relationships. I spent years trying to disassociate from and numb my pain-only to realize the only way out is through.
I know that healing after trauma is possible, and that natural modalities get to the root of the issues, providing the most thorough healing-which leads to a greater sense of autonomy and empowerment!
The mountains that you are carrying, you were only supposed to climb.

I’ve lived with the fears that embed themselves in your body and mind after abuse. A flinch here, avoiding intimacy there, so much anxiety you can’t tell where the fear stops and you begin; which makes it seem impossible to trust yourself or anyone else.
Telling yourself that you’re damaged and you’ll never find someone healthy because of your past-or feeling like you’ll mess up relationships because you’re so scared to communicate your truth is common after abuse-but it doesn’t have to be the norm.
Healing is hard work-and breaking free from that small, quiet mold you’ve been bound in can seem intimidating; that’s why it’s imperative to not only understand your responses to trauma, but learn what you can do to change them; so you can stop feeling like a prisoner of your past and start Living in the present-
Empowered and Liberated
Trauma Informed Massage & Bodywork Therapy
When is the last time you felt really good in your body?
Massage Therapy is a necessity for both physical and emotional health and has a wide range of benefits. Since trauma disassociates us from our body-and painful memories are stored throughout our body, massage therapy presents an effective way to release our pain (without words) and help us feel safer in our skin. It is an excellent way to calm your nervous system, retrain your brain and to appreciate the skin you’re in!
“I am not a good massage client...I wait until my body hurts far worse then it should, I don’t stretch near enough, I barely drink water, I am physically hard on my body, & I rarely give myself any recovery time. The first time I went to Stephanie my body was a mess. She knew immediately how to put me back together!! She has such a comforting touch, with such healing properties. Every massage has consistently been as good as the first!!
I must add that most recently, much like my body, my soul became a mess. A great friend of mine left this world in a way that no one is ever prepared. With no idea what I was asking for, I knew that I needed to reach out to Stephanie-I wasn’t wrong. Life has a way of putting the right people in the right place at the right time.
My healing process, however slow, has already started. With no hesitation I recommend and I am grateful for Intentional Holistic Healing.” K.W., NY
